• All Thor officers are monitored for Key Performance Indicators.
• All Thor officers have a 10 years checkable history, although the industry standard is 5 years.

The Limitations of CCTV

There is no better solution to your security requirements than a security officer on site making regular patrols monitored by exception.  All Thor guards work throughout the night, monitored by remote tracking which is accessible on site, at our headquarters and by our clients via an on-line interface. When considering CCTV alone as your solution, consider the pit-falls:

• There is NO INDEMNITY INSURANCE, so YOU will pay for the Crime, and the CCTV Monitoring Centre.
• If Monitored at a CCTV Monitoring Centre, how many False Alarms are generated? Watch the Level of Service drop.
• What is the Ratio of CCTV Monitoring Officers to Sites? Watch the level of service drop.
• How Fast can the Security Company Respond? Within twenty minutes is the only way, and there are NO Guarantees, from the Police or ANY Security Company.
• How easy is it to be Faceless on CCTV? Very easy, a Balaclava, or a Towel over the Camera.
• Evidence for Court? Unless there is White Light, identification is impossible. Infrared Light turns everything to Black & White. This makes identification difficult, if not impossible.

Gadgets Alone Simply Don't Work!

If you have an existing security company, have you ensured that your indemnity insurance is valid? Why this basic question is still not asked by quantity surveyors, facility managers, and general managers, is beyond our comprehension.

CCTV

CCTV is the most misunderstood, and widely abused “Gadget” of Security. In the correct place it can be a useful tool…but so often it’s expected to Catch Criminals, Deter Criminals, and Provide Evidence.

• A CCTV recorder on your premises will show you the “after event”, it will not STOP the crime.
• A CCTV monitoring centre can see the criminals call the police, as the police require a real time sighting to attend your premises. Whether this works is another matter.

Passive Infra Red (PIR) Monitoring Centres.

Some security companies are chasing cats, dogs and other false alarms through the night. This causes a significant drain on a limited staff of alarm response mobile officers.

Our competitors often risk taking on more sites than can be effectively staffed or monitored, given the limitations of geography and staffing levels.

The limitations of remote surveillance, Gadget only 'Solutions'.

• No continuation of evidence – If the Cameras don’t follow the Crime, there is no evidence.
• Remote tracking issues – The CCTV Operator will 'over shoot' & 'under shoot' trying to track the criminals.
• Difficulty in securing positive identification – Poor image quality, corrupted further by infra-red light coupled with a the most basic of facial covering makes identification impossible.
• Quality of equipment – 'Crime Watch' shows police cameras worked by fibre optic cables, not broadband. Each camera is at least £20,000 - not the equipment offered by many security companies.
